Hardship Waivers (I-601 / I-601A)

These waivers are for individuals seeking to overcome a finding of "inadmissibility" to the U.S. They require demonstrating that a qualifying U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident relative would suffer "extreme hardship" if the applicant is denied a visa or removed from the country.

VAWA (Violence Against Women Act)

VAWA provides a pathway to legal status for non-citizen victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, or stalking. It allows abused spouses, children, or parents of U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents to self-petition for legal status without the abuser's involvement.

Asylum

Asylum is a protection granted to foreign nationals already in the U.S. or at a port of entry who have fled their home country due to persecution or a well-founded fear of persecution. This persecution must be based on their race, religion, nationality, political opinion, or membership in a particular social group.

U-Visa & T-Visa

The U-Visa is for victims of certain crimes who have suffered substantial mental or physical abuse and are helpful to law enforcement. The T-Visa is for victims of human trafficking. Both visas provide temporary legal status and a potential path to permanent residency.
